Ideal location, beautifully appointed apartment

We have just returned from a 4 night break in this lovely apartment just yards from Princes Street. The accommodation is stylish, spotlessly clean and comfortable. There is heaps of room, it is walking distance from many of central Edinburghs attractions and only moments from excellent cafe’s and restaurants. We enjoyed breakfast croissants from Henderson’s just a few steps away and would recommend Cafe St Honore for a French/Scottish experience. Susan was really helpful in making arrangements for our stay and Dave, the manager was the same while we were there. Here’s to the next time! Clare, Matt and Sally

LOVED this apartment!

You can not find a nicer, more perfect apartment than this one. My family and I stayed here while we were in Edinburgh for my sister’s wedding. I was a little nervous at first about booking an apartment, rather than a “big-name” hotel, but as soon as I spoke to Susan, she put me right at ease. Susan was so helpful and kind, which made our stay and the entire experience even more amazing. As to the apartment itself, a hotel room could not even come close to comparing. The apartment is HUGE, beautifully decorated and immaculate. As beautiful as it looks in the pictures, it is even better in person. The location was incredibly perfect. We were right in the center of everything. There were tons of restaurants, pubs and even a grocery store and bakery right around the corner and only about a 5/10 minute walk to the castle. We did not have a car, and certainly did not need one. Even the buses for out of town trips (which we did take one), were right around the corner. I am planning on coming back to Edinburgh in the future to visit my new brother-in-law’s family, and after staying here, I don’t think I could stay anywhere else. Thank you again for everything, Susan!

Exceptional Place

This place is outstanding. It is every thing advertised and more. Great location, exceptional quality of furnishings and equally important extremely clean. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it. We rented two flats for the four couples and it was perfect. The owner is very easy to deal with and gave us information on restaurants, etc. Thanks Susan. The place is awesome. They always stress location and this is in a perfect place. Close to the royal mile and all of the stuff it has to offer.

Wonderful Flat in an Excellent location

My family had the pleasure of staying here for a week in May 2011. The Flat is beautifully decorated and spacious enough for a family of 4 or 5. It is within walking distance of the Royal Mile and Scott Monument. Bus and Taxi service is right outside the door and the Airlink Bus service drops off and picks up right around the corner. There are plenty of tour companies that pickup and Waverly Train Station is close by that will take you to various destinations thoughout Scotland so a car is not necessary. Susan and Dave were great to work with. I would recommend them to friends and family and hope to get to visit again soon.

Just perfection

I don’t have a bad thing to say about this lovely flat. It was just perfect for our party of six. Fab location, beautiful decorating, nicely equipped kitchen, even a spare adaptor when mine went defunct! I would (and hope to) stay here again, no question about it.

Lovely and Charming

This beautiful, charming and central flat in close proximity to the castle exceeded our expectations! The pictures do not accurately reflect the spaciousness nor the high ceilings or big windows that make this apartment so attractive. There was plenty of room (there were four of us) and the apartment was extremely clean. A great central location for exploring the Edinburgh area and just a short walk to/from the Sir Walter Scott monument. Susan the owner was extremely helpful as was the manager of the flat, Dave. I would recommend this flat highly to friends and/or relatives. Five star all the way! Hopefully we’ll be able to return again one day!

Fabulous Apartment, Excellent Location

The apartment was ideal for us–a family of 5, with 3 adult children. The location couldn’t have been better, and the apartment is lovely, very modern and quite comfortable, clean and very well-maintained. It was a complete pleasure to work with Susan. Everything was taken care of. We took the overnight train from London, and the station is walking distance from the apartment. In fact, we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go in Edinburgh. There is a great view of the castle from the kitchen. I would go back in a minute. Thank you, Susan!

Perfect Location

We stayed in this apartment in the middle of June. From the initial booking all the way through our stay, Susan was a pleasure to work with. The apartment is in a fantastic location, within walking distance to the train station, great restaurants, grocery stores and attractions. There is even a great view of the Edinburgh Castle out of the kitchen window! The apartment itself is beautiful! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thanks Susan!

Discovering My Heritage

We came to Edinburgh to learn more about our heritage. My Dad passed away last December and we wanted to learn more about “Clan Buchanan”. When we arrived at the at the apartment we were overwhelmed for so many reasons. It was beyond our expectations. We have rented homes and apartments before but this flat was by far the best we’ve ever rented. We brought three of our grandchildren and they could not thank us enough for choosing this apartment as our home base for our time in Scotland. The apartment is so beautiful and had so many amenities. The rooms are oversized and easily accommodates a family of five. The owners have thought of everything to make the apartment comfortable and contacted us after arrival to ensure our all or needs were met. The kitchen is fully equiped with upscale appliances so we cooked breakfast in every morning.. Bedrooms were roomy and equiped with perfect linens. The location was perfect. Because it’s centrally located, everything from grocery shopping to siteseeing was within walking distance. Waverly Bridge is only a short distance where trains and buses can be caught. A variety of restaurants and pubs are close by. Even though the flat is in a busy area, it is very quiet and relaxing inside. We loved the view of the Edinburgh Castle from the kitchen and living room windows. We could faintly hear bagpipes playing in the distance every morning and evening which only added to the effect of being in such a historical place. During our stay we took a tour of the city and a day tour to Loch Lomond were the Buchanan’s settled and to Sterling Castle where the monument to William Wallace rests. We were picked up and returned very close to the flat. It was so wonderful to return to the apartment after a day siteseeing. We could not have chosen a more perfect place to stay. The owner, Susan, was so kind to us, calling prior to our trip and making sure our stay in Edinburgh was more than we expected. She responded quickly to our questions, provided us with travel tips, and called us several times before we left the US. We love this flat and plan to return next year! We wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else!

Family Vacation in Edinburgh

We recently vacationed in Edinburgh and loved our accommodations. We travelled with our 2 adult children and wanted to make sure everyone had enough space for themselves and the ability to venture out on their own. Everything we wanted was there! The rental was beautiful and furnished very nicely. The kitchen had everything we needed plus a small washer/dryer unit. The castle was within view from the kitchen window. As we walked out the front door we had restaurants, coffee shops, taxis and the whole city in front of us! Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. I would definitely stay again and enjoyed working with the owner who was very helpful with questions.

Top Quality Flat in Lovely City

Five adults stay in this flat for five nights just a week ago and loved every minute of our time in Edinburgh. I rented the flat and my friends and husband could not compliment me enough for making such an excellent choice. The flat is very spacious and in the middle of everything. I’ts just of Prince’s street, just a couple of minutes walk to Waverly bridge, and you can see the castle right out the kitchen window. The kitchen was well equipped with quality appliances. There’s even a couple of grocery store just a five minute walk away. Many restaurants are in the immediate area as well as shops galore. All the buses run down Princes street so you can access all of Edinburgh easily. I give much thanks to Susan, the owner, for being so kind about us asking questions. She answered everything promptly and was very helpful. You can’t go wrong renting this flat.

Location, Location, Location

The pictures don’t do this apartment justice. It was beautiful and had all the comforts of home. This is the best place to stay in Edinburgh. You’re steps away from Rose Street which has more restaurants and pubs than you can count. You’re steps away from Princes Street which is a main street with the buses (if you take the AirLink bus in from the airport, it stops on Princes Street pretty close to the apartment’s doorstep). Waverly Bridge is a few minute walk — there you can catch trains or any of the tour buses or simply cross the bridge and you’re at the Royal Mile. From the apartment, you can actually see Edinburgh Castle, which is just across the street. If you turned the other way from the apartment, you’re right in New Town which has so much to offer in terms of restaurants, nightlife and shopping. While I was in Edinburgh, I took in all of the local tourist attractions, Murrayfield for rugby and toured the Highlands. I couldn’t ask for a better location. Next time I go back, I will definitely stay there. I can’t recommend this highly enough. Also, Susan is an absolute pleasure to deal with. Very accommodating and answered any question I had. I can’t speak highly enough. Book with confidence!

Great stay over Christmas

having never been to edinburgh before, my wife and I took a chance in renting this flat (site unseen) over Christmas. Everything seemed great prior to arrivial but once we got there and saw the falt itself and the location we were realized we could not have found a better place to spend our holiday. it was very comfortable, clean and the location was great. further, while the flat is in the middle of town, the bedrooms are tucked away from any street noise so sleeping was not a problem. the owner was great to deal with, too. she called us in the states prior to arrivial and made sure we found the flat to our liking once we arrived. great host–not overbearing but enough contact to make sure all is well. we cooked a nice christmas dinner. while we had a to run out to the grocery store (right around the corner) the kitchen had all the appliances we needed for our feat. highly recommend this flat for a vacation in such a great city!

Fabulous Flat right in the center of Edinburgh!

Great way to stay in Edinburgh – this flat was centrally located and very very comfortable! Clean with all the amenities you could ask for. The pictures don’t do it justice – first time renting through VRBO and we were not disappointed. The owner was very helpful – even left a list of good restaurants! We followed her advise and had wonderful meals. Way better than a hotel stay and loads of room so you can truly relax after a day of sightseeing. Truly excellent is all aspects!
